01The short version
This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising software. The only personal data we receive through it is what you type into the enquiry form and choose to send us. Your cookie preference is remembered in your own browser and never reaches us.
02What we collect
What you send through the enquiry form
The form on our contact page asks for your name and email address, which are required, and optionally your telephone number, the area your property is in, the type of service you are interested in, and whatever you write about the project. Nothing else is collected from that form, and there is no hidden field capturing anything about you.
Your cookie choice
When you answer the cookie banner we store your answer in your browser's local
storage under the name ss_consent. It records only which categories you
allowed and when you answered. It stays for 180 days, then we ask again. This value
never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
Technical information from our hosting
Like any website, the server that delivers these pages records requests, which normally includes your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser version. This happens for security and reliability, not analytics.
Typefaces served by Google
The site loads its two typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore contacts Google's servers when a page loads, and Google receives your IP address as part of that request. This is the only third party your browser contacts automatically on this site. Links to Houzz, Facebook and X only contact those companies if you click them.
03What we do not do
We think this is worth stating plainly, because most websites cannot:
- This site sets no cookies at all. The code contains no cookie writing of any kind.
- There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no session recording. We checked the built pages for the common trackers and there are none.
- There are no accounts, no logins and no payments taken on this site.
- We do no profiling and no automated decision-making.
- We do not sell or rent anyone's data, and we do not run a marketing mailing list from this website.
If analytics is ever added, it will be listed in the cookie policy first and will only load for visitors who allow that category.
04Why we use it, and on what basis
| Data | Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry form details | To reply to you, discuss the project and prepare a quotation | Steps taken at your request before entering a contract |
| Cookie preference | To honour your choice and stop asking on every page | Necessary for a service you asked for |
| Server logs | Keeping the site available and secure | Our legitimate interests |
| Analytics and marketing, if added later | Understanding which pages are read; measuring advertising | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
05Who else sees your enquiry
FormSubmit
The enquiry form is delivered by FormSubmit, a form-forwarding service. Your message passes through their systems and arrives in our inbox at marek@studioschubert.com. They act as a processor for us, and their own privacy terms apply to that step.
Our email and website providers
Once your enquiry reaches us it sits in our email system like any other message we receive. Our email provider and the company that hosts this website process data on our behalf in order to deliver those services. If you would like to know who they are, ask us and we will tell you.
We do not pass enquiries to anyone else. If a project goes ahead, we may need to share practical details such as an address with contractors or suppliers working on it, and we will tell you when that applies.
Some of these providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards permitted by UK data protection law, and you can ask us which apply to a particular provider.
06How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as it is doing something useful.
Enquiries that do not turn into a project are kept while there is a realistic prospect of the conversation continuing, and deleted once there plainly is not. If you would like yours removed sooner, say so and we will do it.
Where we carry out a project, the records that go with it are kept for the life of the contract and afterwards for as long as company and tax law requires us to keep business records, which is currently six years from the end of the accounting period they relate to. After that they are deleted.
07How your data is protected
- The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit.
- There is no database and no admin login behind this website. It is a set of static files, which removes the most common way sites are broken into.
- The server sends protective headers with every page:
X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff,Referrer-Policy: strict-origin-when-cross-originandX-Frame-Options: SAMEORIGIN. - Spam is filtered with a hidden decoy field rather than a tracking captcha, so you are not profiled in order to prove you are human.
- Anything that would track you is blocked in the page itself until you allow it, rather than merely being switched off.
08Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or provide it in a portable form. You can object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests, and you can withdraw consent for cookies at any time from the cookie policy.
Write to marek@studioschubert.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
09Children
This site is aimed at people commissioning work on their homes. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data about them.
10Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where the change is significant, we will say what changed.
